C&CB Ph.D. Students Receive Recent Awards

Ann Kimble-Hill, B.S.E., University of Michigan, M.E., University of Illinois-Chicago, a graduate student with Prof. Christoph Naumann, was recognized on November 3rd as presenting the "Top Poster" at the recent LSAMP Indiana and Midwest Crossroad AGEP Second Annual Joint Conference held at Purdue University-West Lafayette (PUWL). Ann's poster was given a unanimous score of "99/100" by a panel of judges from Northwestern University and Purdue and Indiana Universities.
Kyle Cissell, B.A., DePauw University, a Ph.D. student working with Prof. Sapna Deo, was informed recently that he will receive a Pfizer Travel Award from the Analytical Division of the American Chemical Society to present his research at the upcoming 233rd ACS Spring Meeting in Chicago. Kyle will present his research involving the development of a biosensing system based on the unstructured breast cancer protein (BRCA1) for the detection of its interacting partner biomolecules. As part of this award Kyle will also be recognized at a dinner organized by the Analytical Chemistry division at the ACS meeting. A copy of the abstract of Kyle's presentation can be found HERE.
