About This Course
533 Introductory Biochemistry (3 cr.) P: C342 or equivalent. A rigorous one-semester introduction to biochemistry.
The chemical and biophysical properties of biologically important molecules and systems. Special emphasis on the relationship between structure and function in proteins, nucleic acids, and biomembranes, as well asbioenergetics, kinetics, alosteric interactions, and enzyme catalysis.
